POEM - Meant for a Mortal Eternity

I belong to no one;

that is the brick of love I’ve

afforded myself

I belong to no one,

and neither should you

For you want too much

She needs too little

Between her rock,

and your hard place,

I sense we’d all be happiest

You’ll talk with your eyes

I’ll whisper with my fingers

And, pretty soon, every move

you’d considered a contingency

will have given up the game

As I slide down your throat,

you will drip from my chin

It will seem like the limit,

but Heaven forbid that we should

begin speaking as well

Because the lies bring no honey;

they are but desperate bees

And the sticky truth

on sweet offer is this:

I can love you better

I can love you both
